Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced architect with expertise in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise-scale OpenShift (OCP) clusters across production and lab environments.

The candidate will be responsible for solution architecture, deployment, security hardening, monitoring, storage integration, and supporting high-availability Kubernetes-based environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement RedHat OpenShift clusters across Production and LAB environments.
  • Setup of air-gapped OCP installation on HPE Synergy 480 Gen 11 (Production) and HPE BL460c Gen 10 (LAB).
  • Build multiple OCP clusters with master nodes and worker nodes, providing scalable and reliable solutions.
  • Develop detailed documentation for OCP deployment, including High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD).
  • Configure Multus (CNI) for external IP communication and Portworx (CSI plugin) for database nodes.
  • Implement geo-redundancy and failover strategies to ensure business continuity.
Security & Best Practices:
  • Apply CIS Security Hardening for Kubernetes and underlying nodes to maintain a secure environment.
  • Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), image policies, Kubernetes security policies, and certificate management to ensure access control and data protection.
  • Setup Ingress controllers, API server configurations, and HA Proxy load balancing with SSL and KeepAlive to provide secure connectivity.
Networking & Infrastructure:
  • Configure DNS, DHCP, NTP (Chrony) for cluster networking, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Integrate Kubernetes clusters with network switches and SAN storage, providing a scalable infrastructure.
  • Implement SNMP alerting and monitoring to detect potential issues before they impact the business.
Storage & Logging:
  • Setup persistent storage using Portworx, ensuring data reliability and availability.
  • Deploy and configure Container Registry (Quay) to manage container images securely.
  • Integrate Elasticsearch + Kibana for application logs, providing real-time insights into system performance.
  • Configure Rsyslog for node log forwarding, archival policies, and external log analyzer integration, ensuring compliance and transparency.
  • Support sidecar containers (e.g., Logstash) for centralized log forwarding, streamlining log analysis.
Monitoring & Observability:
  • Deploy Prometheus & Grafana dashboards for monitoring cluster resources (CPU, Memory, Disk, Network), providing real-time visibility.
  • Configure alerts for node, pod, and persistent storage to notify teams of potential issues.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of infrastructure and application workloads, detecting anomalies before they impact the business.
Cluster Administration & Operations:
  • Perform installations, upgrades, and patching at node and Kubernetes level, maintaining up-to-date systems.
  • Manage backup and restore processes (ETCD snapshots, import/export backups) to ensure data integrity.
  • Validate cluster health via test deployments and functional checks, verifying system stability.
  • Support application deployments and ATP post-migration tests, ensuring smooth transition.
  • Support middleware installations on Kubernetes, such as Couchbase and Portworx, providing expert guidance.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for production deployments, including High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), and Migration Plans.
  • Provide end-to-end documentation of the deployed platform, facilitating knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for internal teams, promoting skills development.
