Procurement Manager Role

The procurement manager role involves overseeing the entire procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing material requirements and specifications, issuing RFQs, and analyzing bid responses.
  • Managing purchase orders, reconciling discrepancies, and resolving supplier queries.
  • Maintaining master data and ensuring updates are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation plans.
  • Establishing and monitoring processes for issue management, change management, and quality management.
  • Organizing meetings between teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues.
  • Preparing project status reports and submitting them to senior management and customers for review.
  • Driving governance calls with stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong technical skills in buying, including creation of purchase requisitions and management of purchase orders.
  • Experience in monitoring and managing supplier information, master data, and end-to-end procurement cycles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, such as JDE, SAP, or related buying tools.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and drive transformation/automation projects.
