Job Description

The Mainframe Storage System Engineer is a key role that requires expertise in mainframe storage subsystems to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of our storage infrastructure. This engineer will contribute to meeting data storage and management needs effectively and support our mission of leading and innovating in the fintech space.

Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining mainframe storage subsystems, performing storage capacity planning and provisioning, configuring and managing storage management software and utilities, monitoring storage performance and resource utilization, and implementing and maintaining disaster recovery and data replication solutions for mainframe storage systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage management software and utilities such as DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage virtualization technologies and concepts, including DASD, VTS, and SAN/NAS storage provisioning.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage networking protocols and technologies, such as FICON, Fibre Channel, and SCSI.
