Job Overview:

The incumbent will manage engagements related to Indirect Tax Laws, Appeals, Representation before various forums, investigation handholding, Litigation Management Service, Tax Restructuring, Tax Advisory and consulting pertaining to GST, Customs, Service Tax, VAT, and Excise.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Partnering with clients and building strong relationships. Acts as a trusted advisor
  • Providing strategic advice to clients on key issues and understanding their needs
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams in providing services to key accounts
Tax Acumen:
  • Offers a perspective on global trends, emerging industry issues and best practices on client assignments. Able to proactively alert clients on business environment changes that impact (or would impact) the client
Business Development & Marketing:
  • Capturing and managing strong independent relationships with senior clients with minimal partner involvement, expanding client base with new wins and conversions (both existing and new clients) for the business unit.
  • Leveraging internal and external networks for growing the firm's business
Leadership & Team Collaboration:
  • Proactively taking a leadership role where appropriate
  • Creating a high-performance culture in the team
  • Working effectively in cross-service-line engagements
  • Serving as a role model, mentor and coach
  • Approached by members of service line to assist in resolving people issues
  • Contributing to talent acquisition by tapping external networks to identify / refer high-quality candidates for the business unit.

Requirements: CA or law graduate from a reputable institution with a strong academic track record and 4-7 years of post-qualification experience in indirect tax in the field of indirect tax litigation or advisory
