About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience in data governance, metadata management, and integrating Alation with various data sources to ensure efficient data discovery, governance, and collaboration.

  • Lead the implementation and configuration of Alation Data Catalog, including user roles, permissions, and workflows.
  • Integrate Alation with various data sources, including databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud platforms.
  • Configure and customize Alation connectors, JDBC drivers, and data lineage extraction processes.
  • Define and implement data classification rules, data quality rules, and data profiling activities.
  • Promote and advocate for data governance best practices within the organization.
  • Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, and business users to define and implement data governance policies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience as an Alation Data Catalog Consultant or in a similar data governance role.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Expertise in implementing and configuring Alation Data Catalog.
  • Experience with data integration, data quality, and data lineage.
  • Strong SQL and database knowledge.
  • Experience with data modeling and metadata management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
