Database Administration Position

About our team:

We are a group of experienced database professionals providing expertise across major database engines and Big Data solutions. Our organizational structure combines vertically aligned sub-groups dedicated to delivering operational excellence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Full life cycle support of client's database(s), including RAC and non-RAC for OLTP and warehouse, Active DataGuard for DR, partitioning on 12c and 19c on premises and cloud environments.
  • Oracle Exadata patching and maintenance experience is required.
  • Responsible for database backups, design, development, testing, and performance tuning.
  • Work with developers to design and build new structures to support application enhancements and promote database changes throughout the Dev, UAT, and Prod databases.
  • Quarterly patch applications (PSU) and periodic database upgrades with minimal downtime in the database environment.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and perform periodic after-hours support.
  • Automate repeated tasks proactively.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of related experience with implementation and administration of database systems.
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Able to administer, manage, and tune high-transaction Standalone/RAC production server environment(s) on premises and cloud environments.
  • Able to understand and meet end-user needs.
  • Able to work with multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often changing environment.
  • Strong design, development, administration skills.
  • Knowledge of managing Automatic storage management.
  • Analytical abilities to solve complex database performance issues using AWR/ASH/ADDM/TKPROF/SQLT/10046 tracing/OSWatcher/CHM, etc.
  • Experience in managing Database in AWS cloud environment.
  • Experience in writing Shell scripts.
  • Good written/oral communication and soft skills.
  • Oracle certification can be beneficial.
