Process Qualification Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Process Qualification Engineer to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work on complex projects, develop their skills, and contribute to the success of our organization.

About the Job

This is a highly technical role that requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, processes, and equipment. The successful candidate will have experience working with semiconductor capital equipment, including curing, etching, and deposition tools. They will be responsible for conducting FAT tests, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and providing support to new product launches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting FAT tests for semiconductor equipment and qualification
  • Maintaining checklists and procedures, and updating tasks as needed
  • Executing final test checklists and signing off on completed tasks
  • Collecting, processing, and analyzing data
  • Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and conducting diagnostic procedures
  • Recording process documentation and production data
  • Refining process recipes based on test and customer requirements
  • Hands-on experience with PID tuning and DOE's
  • Pumping down vacuum chambers and load-locks safely
  • Interpreting PNID diagrams and making adjustments as needed
  • Handling gases like CDA, N2, and helium, and having an advantage if handling process chemistry
  • Hands-on experience with Kawasaki robots and other related equipment
  • Evaluating ESD requirements for platforms
  • Handling delicate semiconductor wafers/panels with precision and care
  • Tool leveling and verifying lock-out/tag-out procedures
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft suites
  • Experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment
Additional Responsibilities
  • Coaching other team members on mechanical components, adjustment, and alignment
  • Writing daily reports and presenting them to the team and supervisors
  • Providing input on peers during yearly reviews
  • Supporting new product launches and ensuring supplier quality meets standards
  • Facilitating root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier quality issues
Qualifications
  • Degree in electrical, electronics, software, or mechanical engineering preferred
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in relevant final testing/process
  • Substantial experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Experience working in equipment engineering in Semiconductor, Solar, or LED industries
  • Experience in the Final Test Area
  • Ability to read electrical, electronic, and mechanical drawings
  • CAD, Solidwork, and Inventor knowledge a plus
  • Some software and PLC knowledge and understanding a plus
  • Good understanding of electrical and electronics troubleshooting down to the component level
  • Lean manufacturing skills
  • Experience dealing with customers and suppliers
