Unlocking Insights: A Data Science Role

About the Position:

Lingaro Group is seeking an experienced data professional to join our competency center. As a data scientist, you will be responsible for extracting insights from data, building predictive models, and developing AI-powered solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business understanding, data preparation, model development, evaluation, and deployment following CRISP-DM methodologies.
  2. Understanding of optimization techniques, including linear/integer/nonlinear programming and heuristics for finding optimal business solutions.
  3. Experience in gathering business requirements, transforming them into technical plans, data processing, feature engineering, hypothesis testing, and transforming findings into tasks.
  4. Proactive approach for areas where improvement is needed, such as suggesting improvements to existing pipelines (tests, support, and enhancements).
  5. Creation and adherence to standards for improving competency quality.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including 2+ years of DS/operations research experience.
  • Experience with optimization libraries, such as CPLEX, Gurobi, or ortools.
  • Strong Python coding skills, including object-oriented programming concepts, and knowledge of ML libraries and basic SQL.
  • Experience working in cloud technologies, preferably MS Azure or GCP.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts.
  • Experience in CRISP-DM project delivery and Agile projects (like Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with business requirement gathering, transforming them into technical plans, data processing, feature engineering, model evaluation, hypothesis testing, and model deployment.
  • Client-facing experience.
  • Ability to apply independent research, gather information, and provide recommendations for solving diverse scope problems.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Other programming language knowledge, such as SQL or R.
  • Experience working with Spark (PySpark).
  • Experience in other IT roles, such as data engineer or AI engineer.
  • Understanding and experience applying data science and machine learning methods to supply chain management.
  • Strong statistical/mathematical background.
  • Experience working in matrix organizations.
