Role Overview

The Accessibility Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for accessibility delivery, encompassing auditing, testing, remediation, document/PDF accessibility, and compliance reporting for US government and enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of websites, portals, LMS, documents (Word, PowerPoint, PDFs), and multimedia content through automated and manual audits.
  • Perform real-user accessibility testing using screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack), keyboard-only navigation, and mobile responsiveness evaluations.
  • Provide hands-on remediation support for PDFs & Office documents (tagging, structure, alt text, headings, forms, reading order), Videos & multimedia (captioning, transcripts, audio descriptions), and Third-party platforms & LMS content.
  • Guide developers on accessible coding practices, including ARIA, semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Prepare VPATs/ACRs and client-facing accessibility conformance documentation.
  • Advise clients on ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2, and emerging US/state accessibility laws.
  • Support ongoing monitoring and quarterly compliance programs.
