Role Overview
As a Mechanical CAD Engineer at Skyroot Aerospace, you will assist test and integration engineers in the team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Generate 3D models of components, assemblies, tooling, and fixtures.
2. Create 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D CAD models along with a Bill of Materials.
3. Ensure the release of manufacturing drawings with GD&T as per aerospace standards.
4. Interact with design, manufacturing, integration, and quality teams to ensure the design meets all requirements.
5. Support product sourcing, purchasing, and selection as required by the design process.
6. Provide technical and engineering support for day-to-day processing, product development, and process improvements.
7. Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
8. Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
Technical Skills
1. Strong knowledge of CAD modeling, drawings, and machine design with experience in design analysis, experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Creo.
2. Strong knowledge on GD&T.
3. Good understanding of manufacturing processes including turning, milling, and welding. Experience with CAM software is a plus.
4. Willingness to take on non-traditional tasks, roles, responsibilities, and challenges needed to accomplish company goals and objectives.

1. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write design reports, test plans, and deliver design presentations.

5. Experience in a startup or agile development environment.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.
