Job Title: Mainframe Network Professional

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mainframe network systems. This encompasses configuring VTAM, TCP/IP, and SNA settings, as well as ensuring security management through RACF policies and encryption protocols.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy mainframe network systems including VTAM, TCP/IP, and SNA configurations
  • Ensure performance monitoring through tools like OMEGAMON and RMF
  • Analyze traffic, latency, and throughput to optimize network performance
  • Implement security management through RACF policies and encryption protocols such as AT-TLS
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues, protocol mismatches, and hardware faults
  • Plan and execute disaster recovery strategies and backup procedures
  • Maintain network diagrams, SOPs, and change records
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of mainframe networking, including VTAM, TCP/IP, and SNA
  • Experience with performance monitoring tools like OMEGAMON and RMF
  • Strong understanding of security management through RACF policies and encryption protocols
  • Ability to analyze traffic, latency, and throughput to optimize network performance
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with system programmers, DBAs, and application teams
