Job Title: Solid-State Battery Production Manager

About Qpivolta:

We are pioneering India's first solid-state battery production, boasting the country's first solid-state Lithium metal battery cell. A state-of-the-art solid-state battery centre of excellence has been established in Bangalore to experiment with various chemistries.

A team of experts is working on advanced AI-driven discovery and characterization of solid electrolytes to enable efficient experimentation for mass production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize daily operations of the solid-state battery cell production line to enhance efficiency and yield.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues related to electrode coating, cell assembly, and sealing processes.
  • Implement process improvements to elevate cell performance, lifespan, and overall production quality.
  • Continuously analyze data from production lines to identify areas for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Quality Control:
  • Establish and enforce strict quality control measures throughout the production process, including in-line inspections and final product testing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and specifications for solid-state batteries.
  • Analyze quality data to identify and address potential issues before they impact product performance.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead a team of production technicians, operators, and engineers responsible for cell assembly.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to staff on new technologies and procedures related to solid-state battery production.
  • Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of solid-state battery technology, including principles of solid electrolytes, electrode materials, and cell assembly processes.
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques such as roll-to-roll processing, laser cutting, and precision handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrochemical testing methods to evaluate cell performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Project Management:
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to implement new cell designs and technology advancements into production lines.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets related to production scale-up and process optimization.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth production flow.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in lithium-ion battery manufacturing, with a strong focus on cell assembly processes.
  • Proven track record in managing production teams within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement solutions effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret data and identify trends for continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a diverse team and effectively collaborate with cross-functional departments.
