Computed Tomography (CT)/Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist

Our organization seeks a skilled and detail-oriented CT/MRI technologist to join our radiology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in radiologic technology, specialized training in CT and MRI procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient imaging environment.

  • Job Summary:
  • The CT/MRI technologist will be responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations, ensuring patient safety, and providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Preparation and Care:
  2. Verify patient identity, medical history, and physician orders prior to the examination.
  3. Explain the CT and/or MRI procedures to patients, addressing their questions and concerns, and provide clear instructions.
  4. Position patients correctly on the examination table and use immobilization devices as needed to ensure optimal image quality and patient comfort.
  5. Monitor patients' vital signs and comfort during the examination, and recognize and respond to any adverse reactions or emergencies.
  6. Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation safety protocols and MRI safety guidelines.
  7. Image Acquisition and Processing:
  8. Operate CT and MRI scanners to acquire high-quality diagnostic images according to established protocols and physician specifications.
  9. Select appropriate imaging parameters, such as slice thickness, contrast administration, and pulse sequences, to optimize image quality and minimize radiation exposure.
  10. Administer contrast agents, when indicated, under the supervision of a radiologist and following established protocols.
  11. Process and reconstruct acquired images using specialized software.
  12. Evaluate images for technical quality, artifacts, and anatomical coverage, and make adjustments as necessary.
  13. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
  14. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CT and MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  15. Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment malfunctions, and report any major issues to the appropriate personnel.
  16. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the examination room and control room.
  17. Ensure the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
  18. Quality Control and Assurance:
  19. Perform quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of CT and MRI examinations.
  20. Maintain accurate records of patient examinations, equipment maintenance, and quality control data.
  21. Participate in quality assurance programs and initiatives to improve imaging protocols and patient care.
  22. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to radiology services.
  23. Collaboration and Communication:
  24. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  25. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  26. Provide radiologists with relevant clinical information and image interpretations.
  27. Professional Development:
  28. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in CT and MRI technology and techniques.
  29. Participate in continuing education programs and professional organizations.
