Job Overview

At Minutes to Seconds, we're seeking an Application Architect to design and oversee the application architecture for our software solutions. This involves aligning with business needs, technology standards, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in software architecture, application frameworks, and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and architecture of application solutions to meet business requirements while ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Define and implement an application architecture roadmap, aligning with the company's strategic goals and technology stack.
  • Architect and oversee integrations between applications and various platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Develop and enforce application standards, design patterns, and best practices across development teams.
  • Design application architectures suitable for both cloud-based (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premise environments.
  • Conduct architectural and code reviews to ensure quality, security, and adherence to architectural standards.
  • Partner with product managers, business analysts, and developers to ensure application architecture aligns with business objectives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the application architecture, including diagrams, technical requirements, and design patterns.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams, helping them understand architectural standards and ensuring adherence to best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development with 3+ years as an application or solutions architect.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable application architectures.
  • Proficiency with multiple programming languages, such as Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular).
  • Deep knowledge of software architecture principles, including microservices, SOA, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience with cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services.
  • Strong understanding of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable, and effective application solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with enterprise application integration (EAI) tools, message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and API management.
  • Knowledge of application security principles and familiarity with frameworks like OAuth, SAML, and JWT.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Certification in relevant areas, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or TOGAF.
