Japanese Language Instructor Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Japanese language instructor to teach N5 & N4 students in Bangalore.

A language instructor's primary role is to teach and guide students in acquiring proficiency in a specific language. This involves developing lesson plans, conducting classes, and assessing student progress in various language skills like reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing lesson plans, creating instructional materials, and delivering engaging lessons in both classroom and online settings.
  • Evaluating student progress through various assessments like exams, homework, and class participation, and providing constructive feedback to support their learning.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation, and managing classroom dynamics effectively.
  • Incorporating cultural aspects of the language into the curriculum to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of the target language's culture.
  • Collaborating with other educators, participating in professional development activities, and staying updated on best practices in language instruction.
  • Maintaining clear communication with students, parents, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and performance.
  • Adapting teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs, utilizing technology effectively, and continuously seeking ways to improve teaching practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Language Proficiency: Demonstrated fluency in Japanese, both written and spoken, and strong knowledge of language learning principles.
  • Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching Japanese, preferably to diverse student populations, and experience with curriculum development.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Cultural Competence: Sensitivity and awareness of cultural nuances related to the Japanese language and its speakers.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and situations, and to adjust to changing needs and priorities.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field, and potentially a teaching certification or license.
