As a professional in electrical engineering, you will be responsible for designing main electrical equipment and materials. Your expertise will involve preparing technical specifications and data sheets, as well as sizing calculations.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering and at least 5+ years of relevant experience in the oil and gas, refinery, and petrochemical sectors. He/She must be proficient in designing main electrical equipment and materials, preparing technical specifications and data sheets, and sizing calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Design Main Electrical Equipment and Materials: Designing main electrical equipment and materials.
  • Prepare Technical Specifications and Data Sheets: Preparing and reviewing technical specifications and data sheets.
  • Preparation of Electrical Calculations: Preparing electrical equipment and material sizing calculations, hazardous area classification, panel schedules, interconnection and wiring diagrams, control schematics, MTO/BOM, lighting calculations, cable tray and trench sizing calculations.
  • Procurement of Electrical Equipment and Materials: Requisition for inquiry and purchase of electrical equipment's (transformers, switchgears, generators, bus ducts, UPS, capacitors, cathodic protection) and bulk materials (cables, trays, lighting and grounding materials).
  • Technical Bid Evaluation: Technical bid evaluation of offers for electrical equipment's and bulk materials & TB tabulation preparation.
  • Collaboration with Technical Disciplines: Interacting and collaborating with rest of technical disciplines involved.
  • Adaptability and Commitment to Safety: Ability to deal with change and demonstrate flexibility as required, awareness and commitment to health, safety and environmental issues.
  • Engineering Vendor Management: Managing engineering vendors data.
  • Project Reporting: Reporting engineering status and progress.

Requirements

  • Experience in Electrical Discipline: 5 to 20 year or more experience working in the electrical discipline in an engineering company.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, understanding of other disciplines.
  • Task Completion: Able to complete tasks in accordance with project requirements.
  • Routine Problem Solving: Able to discuss routine technical problems and communicate effectively with immediate supervisor and other project personnel.
  • English Language Proficiency: Excellent English language skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing.
  • Electrical Calculation Software: Knowledge of electrical calculation software (ETAP, SKM, Digisilent, Dialux).
  • Site Experience: Experience as electrical site engineer.
