Senior Platform Engineer Job Description

Role: Senior Platform Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Platform Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and maintenance of our core infrastructure. As a DevOps engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of our platform while empowering developers to deliver software efficiently.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, building, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure across multiple environments.
  • Implementing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery.
  • Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
  • Enabling containerized workloads with Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Establishing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Integrating security practices into platform pipelines.
  • Implementing auto-scaling, load balancing, and failover strategies for high availability.
  • Supporting disaster recovery and incident response processes, including root cause analysis.
  • Partnering with development and architecture teams to align platform capabilities with product needs.
  • Driving automation of operational tasks, deployments, and configurations.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to engineers on platform best practices.
