The Role:

As a senior actuarial consultant, you will engage in actuarial modelling projects using proprietary software for tasks such as statutory liability computation, pricing, embedded value, and appraisal value.

  • Performing intricate calculations and statistical analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborating with project leaders to identify priorities and develop strategic plans.
  • Supporting the design and delivery of automated solutions for clients.
  • Participating in process transformation projects, contributing to revenue generation by identifying new client offerings.
  • Developing intellectual capital, pursuing innovation opportunities, and participating in learning and development programs.
  • Mentoring junior colleagues, promoting knowledge sharing, and facilitating career progression.
  • Establishing strong client relationships, introducing clients to our services, and providing insights and solutions based on analysis.
  • Assisting senior leadership in developing business automation solutions.
  • Delivering high-quality work within project deadlines and meeting client expectations.
  • Documenting actuarial model changes and summarizing results.
  • Ensuring effective communication within the team and with clients, working collaboratively.
  • Building strong internal relationships, fostering effective collaboration across geographical boundaries.
  • Demonstrating excellence in client and colleague interactions.

Requirements for Internal Candidates:

The following criteria must be met:

  • 7-9 years of experience in an actuarial role within the life insurance sector or at a consulting/financial services firm.
  • Minimum 2 years building cashflow models or automation engines for reporting purposes using actuarial software.
  • Completion of at least 9 actuarial examinations from either the Institute of Actuaries of India or the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience writing/editing code in VBA, Python, SQL, or PowerShell.
  • Ability to lead teams, deliver solutions, and resolve issues independently.
  • Interest and aptitude for learning new coding languages and technology.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to explain results effectively.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
