Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to guarantee high-quality releases of our on-premises management platform, YugabyteDB Anywhere. As an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test), you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust automation frameworks, validating complex workflows across hybrid and on-prem environments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain enterprise-grade standards.

This position requires a deep understanding of automation, distributed systems, and continuous quality improvements in modern infrastructure setups. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to drive quality from design to release.

  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases covering cluster lifecycle management, security (TLS, LDAP, RBAC), networking and platform integrations.
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks for REST APIs, UI testing, system-level and end-to-end workflows.
  • Perform performance and scalability testing across VM-based deployments and Kubernetes environments.
  • Validate enterprise-grade scenarios such as backup and restore, air-gapped installs, and software upgrades.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • 3-5 years of experience in automation testing, preferably in infrastructure, database, or enterprise software.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and Java.
  • Experience testing distributed systems or microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, hybrid environments, and tools like Ansible, Terraform, Helm.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, excellent problem-solving, debugging, and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
