Job Role:

Shipyard Project Leader

The General Manager oversees all operations at our Ship Construction Site, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

This 100+ year-old conglomerate operates across various industries, including Oil & Gas, Heavy Engineering, Textile, and Energy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise site operations: shipbuilding, repair, engineering, outfitting, trials, and commissioning.
  • Direct and mentor department heads across core functions.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor shipbuilding and repair projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate resource allocation and ensure effective use of materials and manpower.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain financial controls and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Uphold quality standards throughout all processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.

Critical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Marine, Industrial Engineering, or similar field.
  • A minimum of 15-20 years experience in shipbuilding or engineering project management.
  • A proven track record leading large engineering operations and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of shipyard processes.
  • Excellent skills in project management, team leadership, quality assurance, and financial oversight.
