Strategic Communications Professional

The role of a Strategic Communications Professional is a challenging and rewarding position that involves developing media relations, crafting press releases, managing organizational reputation, and enhancing communication strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive PR and communication strategies to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Manage various media channels, including print, digital, social, and website platforms, to enhance brand presence and visibility.
  • Create engaging content using design tools like Canva and Photoshop to capture audience attention.
  • Draft, edit, and distribute press releases to relevant media outlets to secure coverage and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and grow the organization's presence across multiple social media platforms to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Coordinate with print media for coverage and advertisements to reach targeted audiences.
  • Prepare reports on PR activities and provide insights to inform future communications strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels.
  • Handle crisis communication effectively to mitigate risks and maintain a positive organizational image.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public relations and communication, with a strong track record of achievement.
  • Postgraduate degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field to demonstrate expertise and knowledge.
  • Proficiency in design tools like Canva and Photoshop to create visually appealing content.
  • Strong understanding of various media channels and their capabilities to develop effective communication strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage audiences and convey complex information simply.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining high levels of quality and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Experience in handling press releases and working with print & digital media to secure coverage and build relationships.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of media monitoring tools to track performance and measure success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop creative solutions and overcome challenges.
