Electronic Design Engineer Role

This position requires a candidate with a blend of software development and design expertise, but not core hardware knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and maintaining PCB CAD libraries, including schematic symbols, footprints, and parametric data.

  • Develop and maintain PCB CAD libraries.
  • Create and validate footprints for SMD, THT, connectors, and complex IC packages according to IPC-7351 standards.
  • Verify BOMs, electrical attributes, package information, and component descriptions.
  • Process new part requests using PLM systems and update library information.
  • Cross-check datasheets, schematics, and footprints to ensure accuracy in pin sequencing and package details.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance.
Required Skills & Tools:

CAD Tools: Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics Expedition, OrCAD/Capture CIS.

PLM Systems: Windchill, Target PLM, Teamcenter.

Standards & Compliance:

  • IPC-7351 for footprint creation and validation.
  • RoHS and REACH compliance understanding.

Library Management:

  • Creation and maintenance of schematic symbols, footprints, and 3D models.
  • BOM validation and part numbering systems.
  • Use of footprint calculators like LP Wizard and Footprint Expert.
