Job Purpose

As a Tender Engineer within the Measurement Solutions business, you will be responsible for generating quotes for Flow Measurement Products. Your key responsibilities include reviewing customer specifications, issuing RFQs to procurement for cost, preparing proposals, entering sales orders, and coordinating through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review customer RFQ specifications to understand technical requests and parameters, and to solve customer needs by providing value-engineered application-based solutions.
  2. Be familiar with general specifications and market requirements.
  3. Develop specifications for buyout items and obtain competitive quotes from third-party vendors, either directly or with the help of the designated purchasing team.
  4. Consolidate to cost-effective solutions.
  5. Prepare technical and commercial proposals.
  6. Attend clarification meetings with clients as required.
  7. Ensure that tenders meet company commercial guidelines and have the necessary sign-off in accordance with delegation of authority guidelines.
  8. Coordinate with sales personnel responsible for the specific customer/inquiry by maintaining regular communication and sharing regular updates.
  9. Be familiar with the risks and hazards within the activities and processes of the role and procedures, practices, and measures in place to mitigate the risks.
  10. Take responsibility for all associated handover documentation in the event of an order.
  11. Process and enter Purchase Orders into the approved system.
  12. Continuously improve processes for all activities integrated from proposal to handover for execution.
  13. Maximize inter-business unit collaboration with virtual team support and lead effective overall coordination.
  14. Follow and maintain a library of application-based templates for budgetary bids with the goal of generating budgetary bids within the least possible time.
  15. Organize the technical and commercial quote structure based on the customer RFQ expectations, including coordination for trade compliance, legal commercial terms and conditions, bid bonds, etc.
  16. Participate in and actively support company initiatives.
  17. Work with product management to provide knowledge and input from experience with customers on applications and field issues into new product development ideas.
  18. All other duties relevant to the position.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering (Instrumentation).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in functions like applications, inside sales, engineering, and procurement/supply chain, ideally in the oil and gas industry.
  • Familiarity with general safety regulations/processes at workshops, supplier yards, customer sites, etc.
  • Knowledge of PC, Windows Office software. Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of cost estimation and accounting concepts.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a changing, fast-paced work environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standards such as API, ISO, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work in a multidisciplinary and global team.
  • Experience in inside sales with knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Experience in working closely with technical staff.
