Electrical Project Manager Job Description

The company is seeking a skilled Electrical Project Manager to oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of solar power systems at project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Testing: Supervise and monitor all solar PV electrical works on-site, including installation of panels, inverters, combiner boxes, transformers, and cable routing.
  • Drawing Review: Review and interpret solar electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), string configurations, and layout plans.
  • System Oversight: Oversee the installation of LV/MV systems, grounding/earthing systems, protection systems, and monitoring equipment.
  • Integration: Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning: Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for solar systems, including insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and inverter testing.
  • Subcontractor Management: Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
  • Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with international standards (e.g., IEC, NEC), local regulations, and solar industry best practices.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Maintain accurate daily site logs, quality reports, material inspections, and testing records. Troubleshoot technical issues and propose practical on-site solutions to maintain progress and quality.
  • HSE Procedures: Implement HSE procedures during electrical installations and inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Master's is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience in solar PV system installation and supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV system components (inverters, modules, combiner boxes, etc.).
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and construction drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to be based on-site.
