Design Mechanical Systems

We are seeking a skilled mechanical systems designer to create innovative designs using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience in designing mechanical systems, equipment layouts, and fabrication drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Designs: Create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with Engineers: Collaborate with engineers and other designers to ensure design intent and project requirements are met.
  • Review Designs: Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into models and drawings.
  • Maintain Standards: Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with project and industry codes.
  • Coordinate Efforts: Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with structural, piping, and electrical systems.
  • Document Technical Information: Support the preparation of BOMs (Bill of Materials), fabrication drawings, and technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Candidate Profile: Diploma/Engineering Graduate in Mechanical or Production Engineering with 3-7 years of experience.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault for mechanical design and documentation.
  • Design Experience: Experience in designing mechanical systems, equipment layouts, and fabrication drawings.
  • International Design Standards: Familiarity with international design standards and codes (ASME, ISO, DIN, etc.).
  • Material Selection: Strong understanding of GD&T, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Project Management: Ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks simultaneously.
  • Sectoral Experience: Experience in working on multidisciplinary projects in sectors like Mining, Chemical, or Industrial Plants.
  • Data Management: Knowledge of data management systems and version control practices.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Simulation Tools: Experience with simulation tools like Inventor Nastran or Ansys for basic FEA.
  • BIM Tools: Exposure to Plant 3D, Navisworks, or other BIM tools is a plus.
  • Piping and Structural Interfaces: Familiarity with piping and structural interfaces in mechanical design.
  • iLogic Scripting: The ability to automate repetitive design tasks using iLogic or Scripting in Inventor.
