Software Project Manager Role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing software deliveries from third-party suppliers within Telematics projects. They will serve as the main point of contact for suppliers, SW-PL, and the engineering team, requiring a deep understanding of their responsibilities and project status.

This position will report to the NAD Supplier Management Senior Manager and typically be assigned to multiple projects. The candidate will not have any direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance for the software domain NAD within Harman Telematics projects.
  • Supplier Management: Manage software deliverables from 3rd party suppliers.
  • Planning and Monitoring: Plan, monitor, and document tasks related to the 'NAD' domain and track work product integration into the overall project.
  • Scope Definition: Define and document the scope, timeline, quality, and acceptance criteria for supplier deliverables based on customer requirements.
  • Requirements Analysis: Analyze and clarify customer requirements, interfaces, architecture, timeline, and other aspects related to this domain with customers, impacted Harman domains, and suppliers.
  • Communication and Alignment: Organize regular alignment meetings with suppliers and document progress.
  • Project Planning: Participate in regular project team meetings and define supplier-related project plans.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor suppliers' performance in terms of scope, milestones, cost, and quality and intervene when necessary.
  • Acceptance Testing: Specify and drive execution of acceptance tests for deliverables and derive actions for non-conformance.
  • Issue Management: Manage problem/issue tickets related to supplier deliverables.
  • Status Reporting: Prepare regular status reports for Product Managers/SW PL and line managers.
  • Evaluation Support: Support project leads in evaluating requirements and change requests.
  • Statement of Work Preparation: Prepare Statement of Work (SoW) and align with procurement, Product Managers/SW PL, and line managers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electronic engineering, computer science, or similar field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded systems, preferably in the automotive area.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in SW development (OOA, OOD, OOP).
  • Analytical skills and good system understanding in the embedded SW area.
  • Knowledge of automotive System-/SW Engineering.
  • Experience in technical coordination of engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
  • Experience working with external customers/OEMs and/or suppliers.
  • Self-driven, autonomous, and systematic way of working and ability to help others achieve this.
  • Knowledge of requirements-, configuration-, risk-, and change management methods and tools.
  • Knowledge of process frameworks and standards such as Automotive SPICE and IATF 16949.
  • Good English language skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of Infotainment/Telematics systems and experience in working inside Automotive projects.
  • Knowledge of automotive-specific technologies.
  • Good understanding and working skills in C/C++, Linux, SW architecture (UML), MS Office tools, JIRA, ALM.
  • Knowledge of agile development methods.
  • Knowledge of operating system architecture and inter-process communication methods.
  • Knowledge of Network Access Technologies.
  • Expertise in working with distributed development teams.
  • Basic German language skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Will to travel up to 30%, domestic and/or international travel.
