Job Title: GL Accountant

As a key member of our finance team, the GL Accountant plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our company's financial records. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and reconciling bank accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Additionally, they should possess excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The following are some of the key responsibilities of this position:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including the general ledger and sub-ledger
  • Prepare and review journal entries, as well as reconcile bank accounts
  • Monitor and manage cash flows, ensuring timely payments and receipts
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, as required by management or regulatory bodies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective communication
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and tax laws
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Oracle and Notes experience preferred, but knowledge of other ERP systems acceptable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Good working knowledge of GST and TDS regulations
