WFS and Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) have formed a long-term partnership to develop, operate, manage, and maintain the International Cargo Terminal and Cold Chain Facility at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. The newly established joint venture entity commenced operations in 2023.

BLR Airport is India's third-largest cargo hub and strategically positioned to cater to substantial future growth. WFS is the world's leading independent cargo handling services company based on revenue and tonnage, offering a comprehensive suite of best-in-class services across its combined SATS-WFS network in over 215 locations across more than 27 countries and territories.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking IT professional to deliver key IT services for WFS Bengaluru. This position would be ideal for a qualified and experienced systems/network administrator looking to step up to the next level or a senior IT Manager with experience in the Indian market.

The successful candidate will report to the WFS EMEAA IT Director based in Paris and have a service delivery reporting line to the WFS BLR CEO. As a member of Country IT Managers, they will share the same vision of standardization, reducing complexity, creating business intelligence, and professionalization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage solid, stable, and reliable IT Operations
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization (local and global) to develop solutions for IT needs
  • Lead IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
  • Manage telecommunications systems and ensure all offices and remote workers have necessary systems for smooth communications
  • Work with Group IT to ensure delivery of standardized and consistent IT services
  • Responsibility for local IT infrastructure and applications
  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels and make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
  • Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
  • Develop and maintain the IT budget in cooperation with Group IT and Finance
  • Manage relationships with 3rd-party service providers, ensuring SLA compliance

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of experience working in IT operations in senior positions
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases, and phone systems
  • Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies using multiple suppliers
  • Experience in aviation/cargo/logistics would be desirable
  • Experience in the Indian IT environment is a must
