Job Description

Lead the design and development of automated systems and processes as a Senior Automation Engineer. A strong background in substation or industrial automation is required, along with proficiency in leading teams and coordinating with cross-functional departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Understand project scope, execute engineering activities from design to implementation, prepare project budget estimates and schedules, and ensure final deliverables meet quality standards.
  • System Design: Design substation and industrial automation systems, including network architectures, I/O signal lists, and schematic drawings. Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs)/Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for various equipment.
  • Configuration & Testing: Develop configurations and settings for network switches, data concentrators, RTUs, SCADA systems, and PLCs. Perform quality reviews for all project deliverables.
  • Team Coordination & Mentorship: Coordinate design activities with other departments and provide leadership, training, and mentorship to team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Instrumentation.
  • Experience: 8-12 years of work experience in the design, configuration, or testing of substation automation systems or PLC-based projects.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expert knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, and IEC-61850.
  • Experience with software tools like SEL AcSELerator RTAC and SEL Architect Diagram Builder is beneficial.
  • Experience with HMI systems such as Aveva or Zenon System Platform is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation projects and experience with US utility clients are advantageous.
  • Personal Attributes: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and talent for facilitation, team building, and problem-solving.
