We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our global team. Elife is a pioneering startup transforming the passenger transport industry worldwide.

Our platform and apps are built on the cloud, catering to diverse customer needs including group/event transportation, NEMT transportation, senior and disability transportation, pet relocation, and bilingual drivers for non-English speaking clients.

We operate globally with customers across North America, South America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. Our innovative solutions leverage the latest technology and best practices.

Job Description:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining backend applications for our global customer base
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Building and optimizing Python/MySQL backends hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Enhancing, maintaining, and troubleshooting existing software applications for performance and reliability
  • Writing clean, scalable, and testable code following best practices
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving programming bugs and performance bottlenecks
  • Contributing to technical documentation and knowledge sharing across the team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in backend development, particularly with web and mobile applications
  • Strong expertise in Python and MySQL, with proven experience building scalable applications
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), version control, and CI/CD practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time effectively and deliver in a fast-paced, global environment
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to learn quickly
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset
  • Understanding of ML fundamentals, Building APIs/services to serve ML models
