Research Innovation Leader

About the Role:

We are seeking a visionary Research Innovation Leader to drive our research and development strategy, aligning with overall business objectives. This role will focus on defining and implementing R&D initiatives, collaborating with executive leadership, and developing business cases for new product innovations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Craft and execute a comprehensive R&D strategy that fuels business growth.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to prioritize research projects and innovation initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Develop compelling business cases for new product innovations, highlighting market potential and competitive advantage.

R&D Management:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Oversee new product development, formulation improvements, prototyping, and testing, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Monitor R&D budgets, timelines, and performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to optimize resource allocation.
  • Evaluate and implement effective IP strategies (patents, trade secrets) to protect research outputs and ensure commercial viability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with production, quality assurance, procurement, and marketing teams to guarantee product readiness and market fit, driving seamless technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Foster open communication channels, facilitating the translation of R&D outcomes into commercially viable offerings that meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, increasing efficiency and reducing costs.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain awareness of emerging scientific, technological, and market trends, applying this knowledge to inform R&D decisions.
  • Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards, maintaining documentation and certification as required.
  • Implement quality control measures to prevent errors, ensuring audit-readiness and certification compliance throughout the R&D lifecycle.
