Job Title: Engineering Manager

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Controls Systems team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers responsible for designing and maintaining controls across our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 5-10 controls engineers responsible for designing and maintaining controls across our portfolio.
  • Develop and execute staffing plans to ensure consistent delivery against project plans.
  • Support project management with the definition of suitable plans for development, testing, and execution of technical reviews.
  • Provide technical oversight to work performed, ensuring appropriate processes and methods are applied, in accordance with a model-based design (MBD) philosophy.
  • Mentor engineers in technical analysis, project risk management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Lead strategic initiatives for the controls COE to improve organizational quality and efficiency through technology advancement and process improvement.
  • Define organizational best-practices and chair design reviews to ensure minimum standards are met throughout the organization.
Requirements:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical, Control Systems, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with 15+ years of controls system experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of controls engineering foundations, including feedback control, linear/nonlinear control, multivariable control, system identification, and optimization.
  • Proficient in the use of Matlab-based toolsets to design, implement, and test embedded controls algorithms.
  • Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Proven ability to lead small cross-disciplinary teams of engineers to deliver large scope projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of delivering results through effective project management and teamwork.
