Senior Backup Engineer


Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the integrity and reliability of our backup infrastructure. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues, ensuring timely backups, and maintaining optimal system performance.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with teams to identify and troubleshoot backup-related issues
  2. Design and implement efficient backup solutions
  3. Develop and maintain documentation for backup procedures
  4. Perform regular configuration changes and upgrades as needed
  5. Monitor and report on backup success rates and provide recommendations for improvement

Required Skills and Qualifications

For this role, we are looking for a highly skilled professional with expertise in backup systems and data protection. The ideal candidate should have:

  1. At least 5 years of experience in backup administration or troubleshooting
  2. Hands-on experience with Commvault and other backup software
  3. Strong understanding of network fundamentals and iSCSI protocol
  4. Familiarity with Zerto, Veeam, Data Protector, and other backup technologies
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  6. Strong communication and collaboration skills
