Highly Experienced Slot Game Backend Developer Lead

At Gamemano, we're seeking a seasoned Senior Slot Game Backend Developer to lead our team in crafting exceptional backend systems and services for slot games. As a key player in our development process, you will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, efficient, and robust backend architectures to support game logic, player interactions, and real-time data streaming.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Game-Specific Architecture & Design: Develop and implement optimized backend architectures for slot games, including RNG handling, payout calculations, and in-game event tracking.
2. Slot Game Backend Development: Utilize Node.js to create and maintain backend services for slot games, ensuring seamless execution of game mechanics, bonus rounds, and jackpot functionalities.
3. Remote Gaming Server Development & Maintenance: Collaborate on the development and upkeep of a Remote Gaming Server to handle game logic, player session management, and operator integrations.
4. Real-Time Messaging: Leverage Apache Kafka to build real-time data pipelines for game events, player session tracking, leaderboards, and bonus triggers.
5. API Integration: Integrate third-party APIs, including RNG services, payment gateways, analytics platforms, and operator systems, while developing RESTful APIs for internal game clients and external integrations.
6. Performance Optimization: Analyze and address performance bottlenecks and latency issues to ensure a smooth gaming experience during high traffic periods.
7. Game Logic Implementation: Work closely with game designers to implement backend logic for slot mechanics, including win/loss logic, RTP calculations, and feature triggers.
8. Code Reviews & Mentorship: Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers to ensure high-quality backend solutions.
9. Testing & Deployment: Ensure robust testing of backend systems for slot games, including game scenarios and stress testing, and manage CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployment and updates.
10. Troubleshooting & Live Support: Monitor live environments for issues, troubleshoot backend systems, and minimize downtime for slot games in production.
Required Qualifications:
1. Experience: Minimum 7+ years of backend development experience, with at least 4 years working on Slot Game Backend Systems and 3 years on Remote Gaming Server.
2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Node.js and related frameworks, expertise in Apache Kafka, and hands-on experience with third-party RNG services and payment gateway integrations.
3. Game-Specific Experience: Proven track record of designing and implementing backend systems for slot games, including RTP configuration, progressive jackpots, and in-game rewards.
4. Databases: Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, with a focus on player data, game state management, and transaction logs.
5. Version Control & Cloud Platforms: Proficiency with Git and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for gaming backends.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Additional Skills: Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, familiarity with casino backend frameworks, and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
2. Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, specifically in gaming projects.
3. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment, and adaptability to fast-paced requirements.
