Job Title: Head of Nursing

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to oversee our dynamic nursing department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of a team of approximately 15 nurses, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and the efficient operation of the department.

The nursing department covers OPD, IPD, OT, and Maternity areas.

Main Responsibilities:

  • All roles as a registered nurse.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the nursing team.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, including scheduling, resource allocation, and patient flow.
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, providing feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Manage resources effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Address patient concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Stay current with advancements in nursing practice and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (essential).
  • Registered Nurse with a valid license to practice in Tanzania (or eligible for registration).
  • Experience in a nursing leadership role, preferably in a hospital or health center setting.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of nurses.
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of nursing best practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records systems.
