Accounting Associate Job Description

The role of an Accounting Associate involves providing financial services to clients, with a focus on bookkeeping, taxation, and compliance. The associate will assist in preparing and filing tax returns, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file tax returns for individual and business clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian taxation laws.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including bookkeeping and reconciliation tasks.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for clients, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support the team in managing client relationships, providing exceptional service, and building trust.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in taxation laws and regulations, ensuring that clients receive the best possible advice.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax systems and bookkeeping practices.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
