Senior Backend Software Engineer for AI/ML Workloads

We're seeking an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team at Proximity Works, a global company that solves complex problems and builds cutting-edge tech at scale.

Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on experience

Job Description:

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Proximity Works, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing large-scale applications, AI/ML-driven architectures, and leading the development of innovative software products.

  • Develop server-side logic, define and maintain the central database, and ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
  • Implement relational, document, key, object, or graph data stores, index stores, and messaging stores as needed.
  • Write clean, high-quality, high-performance, and maintainable code.
  • Build robust, secure, and scalable microservices.
  • Design and optimize backend systems to handle large-scale AI/ML data pipelines, model serving, and real-time data processing for predictive analytics.
  • Develop a highly scalable and performant backend based on event-driven architecture with AI/ML integration.
  • Integrate AI/ML model APIs into backend services and ensure optimal performance of those models.
  • Break down features into tasks and drive the evolution of the backend architecture to support AI/ML models at scale.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of stories: development, test, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of software development experience, with deep expertise in frameworks and languages such as Java, Go, and Python.
  • Focused, hands-on experience with Golang (3+ years).
  • Experience with frameworks like Springboot, Quarkus, Gin/Mux.
  • Proficient in building GraphQL APIs.
  • Proficient in OOP, SQL, Design Patterns with data modeling experience in relational databases.
  • Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML model deployment, performance tuning, and backend system integration.
  • Experience with scalable infrastructure for AI/ML model serving and orchestration of machine learning workflows.
  • Excellent attention to detail and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently in a fluid environment with minimal-to-no guidance.
