Job Description

The Expert Psychometrician will work with the National Assessment Centre to develop and review items for large-scale assessments administered to millions of learners. They will lead the development of holistic progress cards and deliver capacity-building workshops to educators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert knowledge of psychometrics, educational measurement, and large-scale testing programs to define and shape studies and activities supporting PARAKH
  • Frame problems and propose solutions to establish PARAKH effectively
  • Design and lead research studies, overseeing the work of Psychometricians
  • Consult external clients on psychometric and data issues related to conducting large-scale assessment programs
  • Prepare reports and presentations of project study results and present them to clients
  • Represent ETS India and ETS to the client
  • Coordinate work on Psychometricians at ETS India and all psychometric work with ETS HQ
Requirements
  • A master's degree in a relevant field, such as educational measurement or linguistics, along with experience leading psychometric analysis
  • Minimum 5-6 years' experience working on learning assessment, test item design, and capacity building, specifically in languages (English)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office and statistical computer packages, such as R or SPSS
