DBA Opportunity to Support Mission-Critical Systems

 

We are seeking an experienced DBA to join our team and support the maintenance of mission-critical systems. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of multiple database environments with large volumes and sizes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Database maintenance, backups, recovery, and upgrades

    • Ensuring database resources are sized accurately and developing a design strategy to maintain healthy database size

    • Performing routine health checks and recommending changes to ensure efficient performance

    • Interacting and working with multiple infrastructure and IT teams for environment setup, maintenance, and support

    • Collaborating with developers to assist with database structure design as per business needs

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • IMS DBA experience with version 13 onwards

    • Experience in creating and modifying DBD, PSB, ACB, FMT

    • Administration of IMS Full Function, HALDB, Fastpath databases

    • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting skills on IMS administration

    • Usage of IMS utilities (including IBM, BMC)

    • Working knowledge of RACF as it relates to IMS

    • Working knowledge of IMS exit points and routines

    • z/OS – TSO, ISPF, JCL

    • Tools – FileManager, ADBUS

    • Basic knowledge on VSAM, CICS, IMS DC
