About Our School

Our school is a well-established special education institution in Chennai, founded by a renowned educational legacy. Centrally located on a scenic campus, we provide special education and vocational training for children and adults with various disabilities.

We offer pre-vocational and vocational training programs, including the NIOS curriculum, and are supported by a multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation professionals providing physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • We are seeking a skilled Special Education Professional who is passionate about supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive education. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), providing instructional support tailored to students' unique needs, maintaining thorough documentation and reporting, managing student behavior effectively, and adapting curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and regularly review IEPs tailored to each student's needs, in collaboration with parents, therapists, and other staff members.
  2. Deliver customized instruction to students based on their individual needs and learning styles.
  3. Modify the standard curriculum to meet the abilities of students with disabilities.
  4. Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans and use positive behavior supports.
  5. Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, and parents to support students' academic and social development.
  6. Assess and track student performance and progress regularly, adjusting goals accordingly.
  7. Maintain a supportive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  8. Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, assessments, and communications.
  9. Participate in training and workshops to stay updated on special education practices, legal requirements, and instructional strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or equivalent in Multiple Disabilities.
  • 3-7 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive aids and devices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and specialized instructional strategies.
