Job Summary
Lenovo is seeking a highly skilled Consultant for Power and Cooling to join its Global HPC Professional Services team, based in North America. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-performance computing solutions that meet the complex power and cooling requirements of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Decipher complex RFP requirements related to facility power and cooling infrastructure and design IT solutions that fit within those limitations.
- Architect complex power and cooling solutions for air and water-cooled IT systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a clear understanding of requirements and success criteria.
- Work closely with engineers and developers to ensure tasks are well understood and acceptance criteria met.
- Drive build vs. buy decisions, identify key technologies needed to deliver new products, and participate in partnerships with internal and external customers.
- Participate actively with Development and external organizations like ASHRAE while staying current with technologies and techniques that will move our business forward.
- Be actively involved in the physical installation of complex IT systems that are air or water-cooled.
- Provide engineering guidance over a wide range of disciplines, including power/electrical, mechanical, thermal, plumbing, and controls.
- Effectively project manage vendors contracted to provide separate pieces of the solution.
Requirements
- Strong customer interaction skills and ability to make technical decisions.
- Experience working in technology disciplines such as power/electrical or mechanical/thermal engineering.
- Understanding of data center and IT solution power delivery architectures.
- Understanding of data center and IT solution cooling architectures and heat transfer.
- Proven ability to work across a wide range of stakeholders and drive issues to closure.
- Experience in providing effective leadership in engagements as a technical consultant in the power and cooling subject matter area.
- Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical skills throughout career.
