Medical Coding Manager Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Coding professional to lead our Multispecialty Coding Services. The ideal candidate will have over 17+ years of experience in medical coding, with a proven track record of managing large teams of coders.

Job Description

The selected candidate will oversee the daily operations of the coding unit, including workload and staffing; hiring, disciplining, and performance appraisals; training; and monitoring quality of work. This role is responsible for developing long-range and short-term goals, objectives, plans, and programs, ensuring they are implemented.

  • Oversee the management of the coding unit's daily activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve data accessibility and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct coding audits and monitor coding accuracy and documentation adequacy.
  • Identify and resolve problems, prepare administrative reports, and disseminate information to relevant staff members.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage a team of medical coders and oversee the unit's daily operations.
  2. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and develop strategies to maintain high-quality coding standards.
  3. Conduct regular audits to evaluate coding accuracy and document adequacy.
  4. Prepare reports and provide recommendations for process improvements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 17+ years of experience in Multispecialty Coding and substantial team management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong managerial, leadership, analytical, interpersonal skills, and Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Hands-on experience in generating reports using MS Office - Excel, Word, and MS PowerPoint.
