About the RoleThe Engineering Technical Leader Applications Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing control functions spanning across all locomotive subsystems with controls content. This position provides a unique opportunity to interact with all locomotive subsystems with controls content.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering and at least 7 years of engineering experience. They should be able to support hands-on validation in simulation laboratory and on-locomotive, as well as travel as required.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor and guide junior engineers as they execute the design and development for locomotive control systems including function definition, requirements development, dynamic analysis, and failure modes analysis.
- Plan individual and sub-team work for assigned projects and product features as input to integrated project plans.
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Drive process improvements and simplification initiatives to improve quality and productivity.
- Review and refine system-level requirements to understand design intent and reconcile with control system capabilities.
