We're seeking a seasoned Cloud Architect to spearhead the design and development of scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade cloud platforms on AWS.

This is a high-visibility role that requires a strong leader who can set technical foundations for user management, API frameworks, data persistence, and security while mentoring junior developers.

The ideal candidate will ensure our cloud architecture is robust, compliant, and future-proof, hosting advanced use cases including AI.

Key Responsibilities:Cloud Architecture & Development:
  • Design and implement scalable backend services using AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, Step Functions, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, etc.).
  • Develop and manage API frameworks (REST, GraphQL, or OData) with versioning, throttling, and access control.
  • Build and optimize multi-tenant user management systems with fine-grained access control (IAM, Cognito, SSO/SAML).
  • Evaluate database reliability and performance (DynamoDB, Aurora, caching layers).
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and auditing (CloudWatch, X-Ray).
Security & Compliance:
  • Enforce secure coding and deployment practices (IAM roles, Secrets Manager, encryption, VPC design).
  • Implement data governance and compliance controls (GDPR, SOC2, HIPAA as applicable).
  • Drive best practices for API security, authentication, authorization, and auditability.
  • Proactively identify vulnerabilities and ensure platforms meet enterprise security standards.
Team Leadership:
  • Mentor and lead a team of AWS developers, enforcing best practices in scalability, performance, and security.
  • Define and maintain coding standards, architecture guidelines, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Review system designs and code to ensure they meet long-term platform scalability goals.
Collaboration & Delivery:
  • Partner with product managers, architects, and customer teams to align solutions with business needs.
  • Translate high-level requirements into scalable, modular architectures.
  • Drive cost optimization strategies across compute, storage, and networking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in AWS cloud engineering and backend development, with proven track record of building secure, scalable platforms.
  • Strong expertise in user authentication & authorization frameworks (Cognito, SAML, OAuth2, IAM).
  • Deep knowledge of API design and management, including API Gateway, throttling, and observability.
  • Strong skills in database design & scaling (SQL & NoSQL).
  • Hands-on programming experience in Python, Node.js, or Java.
  • Familiarity with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) and DevOps pipelines (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Strong understanding of enterprise security best practices in cloud environments.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and mentoring developers.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with multi-cloud integration and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce).
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging systems (SNS, SQS, Kafka).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML workloads on AWS (SageMaker, Bedrock) as consumers of the platform.
