The Marketing Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role within our team, responsible for developing and executing property-level communications that engage and captivate our valued customers.
Reporting directly to the Manager of Marketing and Communication, this position is tasked with promoting on-brand messaging across traditional, digital, and social media channels, aiming to elevate the hotel's image and reputation.
This role involves assisting in the creation of targeted marketing plans, campaigns, and strategies to drive consumer awareness, increase market share, and foster broader brand recognition.
In collaboration with regional eCommerce and Marketing teams, we ensure seamless integration of local, social, and digital marketing efforts with our sales initiatives.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
We seek candidates with a strong educational foundation in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related fields, coupled with 2 years of experience in sales, marketing, digital, or related professional areas. Hospitality marketing or digital advertising experience is highly desirable.
An alternative pathway is a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related major, accompanied by no prior work experience.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Hotel Marketing and Advertising
Supports the execution of our annual marketing strategy, working closely with Operations, Food Beverage, and Sales teams to develop and implement promotions that drive incremental revenue.
Collaborates with our advertising agency on creative and media planning for tactical advertising campaigns, focusing on food and beverage promotions.
Manages Facebook media schedules, email marketing, and display advertising, ensuring alignment with our brand voice.
Stays informed about the performance, opportunities, and challenges associated with online programs and initiatives.
Verifies that all digital advertising for the hotel aligns with our brand identity.
Social Media Content Management
Assists in facilitating social media engagement and updating content in local digital channels, including the hotel website and travel sites.
Supports the development and execution of promotions in Facebook, weddings, spa, rooms, and conferences through relevant digital and social media channels.
Engages in proactive online reputation management by surfacing relevant guest comments and responding accordingly.
Public Relations and Visual Asset Management
Participates in the development of comprehensive PR plans, collaborating with our agency.
Maintains a list of local media contacts, focusing on food critics and bloggers.
Manages assigned accounts using our media account management system.
Assists in writing and distributing press releases for property events, promotions, and outlets.
Supports the execution of hotel-sponsored events, community/government relations activities, and press promotional activities.
Assists in managing external vendors and media agencies, reviewing PR leads from our continent PR Leader regarding which media are best suited to promote the hotel.
Supports the coordination of photography for Facebook advertising, collateral, and public relations purposes between the hotel, advertising agency, and regional field marketing teams.
Assists in photo shoots for seasonal or festive promotions in partnership with the cluster or area marketing team.
May serve as a point of contact for regionally approved local photographers for food, amenity, and property imagery.
Direct Marketing and Collateral Development
Assists in coordinating and executing Hotel and Facebook printed materials.
Manages the quantity and inventory of all Hotel marketing collateral, verifying copies are filed comprehensively.
Supports the production of all property, Facebook display, and temporary signage in hotel public areas.
Assists in the execution of Facebook direct marketing activities.
Verifies all collateral aligns with brand standard guidelines and complies with Brand Standard Audit (BSA).
General
Assists in the development, coordination, and execution of all communications activities.
Helps with the publication of the hotel's newsletter(s).
Supports communications duties and functions as deemed necessary.
Assists in the liaison and execution of joint Facebook promotions.
Works with the Manager of Marketing and Communication to verify the Hotel's website and related websites are updated regularly.
Provides marketing assistance and acts as a marketing subject matter expert for GMs, Sales Leaders, and Managers, and Revenue leaders.
Stays abreast of competition and its collateral, advertising, and marketing efforts, as well as constantly evolving digital and marketing trends.
Performs other reasonable job duties as assigned by manager.
