Healthcare Documentation Specialist Role

We seek a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Healthcare Documentation Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient records.

This position requires exceptional organizational skills, proficiency in medical software, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Entry and Record Keeping: Accurately transcribe physician dictation into patient charts while maintaining up-to-date documentation.
  • Chart Preparation: Assemble and review medical record documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coding and Compliance: Assign ICD and CPT codes accurately and efficiently, adhering to government and insurance guidelines.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with healthcare providers, staff, and patients to ensure seamless documentation processes.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a medical scribe or in a related field.
  • Strong administrative writing and reporting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHRs).
  • Bachelor's degree in a pre-health career track or related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with ICD-X codes and CPT procedures.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Experience with medical record software and database programs.
