Data Engineering Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled data engineer to spearhead data engineering efforts and drive business growth.

  • The successful candidate will collaborate with DW/BI leads to design and develop efficient ETL pipelines, leveraging tools like Snowflake and scheduler tools (UC4 and Airflow) to manage complex data workflows.
  • Triage technical issues, identify gaps in existing pipelines, and implement fixes to ensure seamless data processing.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and develop tailored data models, utilizing their expertise in data modeling, ELT using SQL, and implementing stored procedures.
  • Mentor junior team members, driving issue resolution and technical skill development, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Foster strategic discussions with client architects and team members on data pipeline orchestration, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, along with a minimum 5+ years of IT experience, with 3+ years in Data Warehouse/ETL projects.
  • Proven expertise in Snowflake, including data modeling, ELT using SQL, and implementing stored procedures, as well as hands-on experience with Snowflake utilities, Snow SQL, and Snow Pipe.
  • A strong understanding of Star and Snowflake dimensional modeling, proficiency in RDBMS, complex SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Certification in Snowflake (Snow Pro Core) is desirable, and the ideal candidate should be adept at working in Agile methodology, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, innovative, eager to learn, and hands-on problem solver, with a passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
