About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at myGwork, an inclusive employer and a member of the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work closely with our Kindle Books Team to take the reading experience in Kindle to the next level with innovative solutions. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, executing, and implementing smaller components with input and guidance from team members. You will also work with Software Development Engineers (SDEs) to deliver solutions into production that benefit customers or areas of the business.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, execute, and implement machine learning models for business applications with 5+ years of experience
  • Develop expertise in one of the applied science disciplines, such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or deep learning
  • Collaborate with partner teams, including engineering, product management, data annotators, and other scientists to discuss data quality, model development, and productionizing solutions
  • Mentor junior scientists and review their work to ensure high-quality output
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
  • A PhD or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages
  • Knowledge of neural deep learning methods and machine learning
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, TensorFlow, NumPy, and SciPy is a plus. Additionally, experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop and Spark can be beneficial.

Salary and Benefits

This position comes with a competitive salary range of $140,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
