About the Role:

  • We are seeking a seasoned Product Engineering Manager to lead the development of new and emerging product lines.
  • This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including senior leaders, product managers, developers, quality analysts, and infrastructure specialists to establish a robust product engineering process.
  • The ideal candidate will be reasonably hands-on and able to take charge of end-to-end product engineering requirements for multiple product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a product roadmap and drive execution in collaboration with strategy, product, and business teams.
  2. Act as a thought leader and mentor on architecture, design, and technical aspects of products.
  3. Identify and deploy tools, frameworks, techniques, and processes to help product engineers do their work faster and solve technology problems more effectively.
  4. Oversee product development, testing, deployment, and maintenance within agreed time frames.
  5. Own all non-functional requirements for products.
  6. Contribute to the selection and hiring of product engineering team members.
  7. Responsible for full-stack product development and release, including architecture, design, development, and testing within agreed time frames.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in product development companies is highly desirable.
  • Proven expertise in Agile software development and management methods, including user stories, iterative development, continuous integration, and shared ownership.
  • Adept at using off-the-shelf software components rather than building everything from scratch.
  • Track record of shipping value to customers and prioritizing progress over perfection.
  • Hands-on experience with Typescript and proficiency in JavaScript-based front-end frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Well-versed in service-oriented architecture and experience building and deploying RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints.
  • Expertise in building and shipping features for high-traffic web applications and mobile applications.
  • Proficiency in RDBMS (preferably MySQL) and NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with observability tools to identify and isolate problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • No less than 12 years and no more than 20 years of relevant experience.
