Electronic Components Sourcing Specialist

Job Overview:

This role involves the development and execution of global sourcing strategies for electronic components, including passive and active components, ICs, PCBs, and PCB assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Bills of Material, PCB Gerbers, mechanical drawings, cable assembly drawings, label specs, and consumable data sheets to identify suitable components for procurement.
  • Engage with suppliers through floating enquiries, comparative cost analysis, estimating, and negotiation to secure quotations that meet our requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotations, prepare price comparisons, and select suppliers based on factors such as cost, quality, and capability.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to maintain cost control while ensuring quality and service standards are met.
  • Identify alternative vendor sources for localization, reducing delivery times, and improving consistency in quality and competition among vendors.
  • Source local vendors for imported parts to increase the proportion of locally sourced products and materials.
  • Establish VMI programs for local and import suppliers to reduce inventory and manage demand.
  • Improve the value-to-price relationship by achieving cost reduction while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Validate lead times, MOQs, and FLMs to ensure accuracy and prevent excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Develop long-term partnerships with suppliers and manage their day-to-day performance to meet service, cost, delivery, and quality norms.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electronic components sourcing and procurement.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze complex data sets and identify trends.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to engage with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
